About
The PhD program in Bioinformatics is a new interdisciplinary program at Temple University. Our goal is to train the next leaders in bioinformatics, genomics, and the data sciences. We admit students who have a background in addressing biological questions and have a strong aptitude to the quantitative sciences such as math, physics, and computer science. Students will complete core courses (Program>Courses) and must successfully complete their doctoral thesis under the guidance of faculty from Biology, Chemistry, and Computer & Information Sciences.
Situated in Philadelphia, Temple University is located in close proximity to 100+ academic institutions and is home to one of the largest biotechnology and pharmaceutical hubs in the US. Nestled between New York and Washington DC, Temple University is within quick reach of major industry, corporate, financial, and government centers. Our program provides many opportunities for our students to become the next generation of leaders in the growing bioinformatics field.
